FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Soul Shaping Productions Accepting Bookings for “Faithwalker” - 2012 through 2013!

Faithwalker: The Life and Times of Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune, performed by veteran actress Teirrah McNair, is now available for booking.

Producers at Soul Shaping Productions, who made today’s announcement, said the

30-minute live drama challenges audiences, young and old to achieve their dreams, as it seeks to relive the life and times of Dr. Bethune, a mover and shaker during the Roosevelt era and the founder of Bethune Cookman College in Daytona Beach, Florida.

“Her unforgettable story of faith under fire is a must see for schools, churches, and special life affirming events,” said Chief Encouragement Officer, Teirrah McNair.

McNair added that Faithwalker is available year round and is especially suitable for African-American History and Women’s History Month events, Juneteenth celebrations, corporate and civic events as well as family reunions.  There is also available a study guide and post-performance discussion suitable for schools and youth groups.

In the past, Faithwalker was featured in a chaplain’s tour of Munich, Germany as well as a school tour through the Alaska Arts Council, and is today available for booking from 2012 through to 2013 to schools, churches, social and civic clubs, especially sororities and affiliate groups of the National Council of Negro Women (Bethune was a founder), social studies and history departments, boys and girls clubs, corporate black employee associations, and college student councils.

With the country in such a depressed state and companies and organizations looking for ways to inspire their employee, McNair noted that Faithwalker, which deftly brings history to life, is a production that readily inspires all who see it.

According to McNair, Faithwalker addresses the subject of overcoming obstacles and/or using obstacles as stepping stones for success. “Unlike other shows brought in for corporate and civic presentations, Faithwalker is an easily mountable production that can be done in an auditorium with lighting effects or in intimate settings with very few props,” she said.

“When I was touring Alaska, I remember they booked me for a show in Juvenile Hall and my last performance that day was for seven of the supposedly “most dangerous” juvenile offenders in the state. It was an incredible afternoon and there was not a dry eye in the room,” she added.

Customer Comments and Reviews of Teirrah McNair’s

Faithwalker: The Life & Times of Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune

(From LinkedIn)

Elliot Margolies, Media Strategy and Production Consultant at Midpeninsula Community Media Center, ETC. San Francisco Bay Area---Teirrah McNair creates a mesmerizing performance and uplifts her audience with her passion and candor as she brings characters to life in her one-woman shows.

Alexandra Branyon, -- Theatrical Producer, Manhattan, New York---With her great energy, strength and power, Teirrah McNair always provides an unforgettable experience that moves and shakes her audience to the core.

Valeri Ross Actor at Film & Theatre Actors Exchange--- Teirrah McNair's portrayal of Bethune is nothing short of haunting. She captivates and takes her audiences back to another time, allowing us to learn about this giant among women by experiencing her firsthand. You leave the performance feeling that you've met Ms. Bethune, all thanks to Teirrah's artistry. I have worked with Teirrah in everything from the classics to comedy and continue to regard her as the consummate thespian. I have been fortunate to work with many of the best actors in Hollywood in my 35 years in this business. Teirrah continues to be one of the best and anyone who is fortunate enough to see her portrayal of Mary McCloud Bethune has been twice blessed with Bethune's life and Teirrah's performance.

Nobantu Ankoanda, Affiliate, ComproTax, Event Planner, Educator, Atlanta, Georgia---Rev. McNair is one of the most creative and talented individuals I have ever met. I hired her to work with my students at the Shule as a drama instructor that lasted for over 15 years. My first experience of her work was her stand up comedy of Moms Mabley at Faye McNair Knox's graduation reception. It was hilarious. I had never laughed so hard in my life. It was that event that gave me the motivation to hire her to direct our drama program. As a result, Shule Mandela Academy students were well known for their outstanding performances throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Many of the these students are now professional actresses, actors and singers. I know this is supposed to be brief but I must also include one of her most recent prestigious performances of Mary McLeod Bethune. It is outstanding. She takes you to that place in history as if you are there listening to Ms. Bethune in person. She would be great at any dinner or party engagement as well as Black History Events for schools, non-profits or for profit businesses.
